HOWELL TOWNSHIP, N.J. -- A bizarre deer attack was caught on camera in New Jersey Sunday.

"Oh it was mad; it was real mad;" victim Ellen Snyder told News 12 New Jersey.

Snyder said she hit the deer with her vehicle. The deer then tried to get inside her vehicle.

Officer Nicholas Austin, with Howell Township police, was on his way to an unrelated call when he saw Snyder's vehicle stop in front of him. Austin witnessed Snyder fighting off the deer and it was all caught on dash cam video.

"I've never seen anything quite like this," Austin told News 12. "And I'm glad that I did see it because if I didn't I probably never would have believed that it actually happened."

Snyder was bruised but otherwise OK.

The deer did not survive its injuries sustained from being hit by the vehicle.
