A Missouri couple was killed and their daughters injured in a car crash while on a vacation to Disney World.

Greg and Sarah Moyers had been saving for months to take their two young daughters from their small town in Missouri to Florida, the Orlando Sentinel reported. They visited Disney World, Universal Studios and were on their way to the beach Sunday when the crash happened.

A vehicle drove into their lane on Interstate 4, causing them to veer off the road and hit a tree about 12:30 p.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Both parents died.

Their girls, Hailey, 13, and Sophia, 8, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, 43-year-old Charles King of New London, N.C., was not injured.

“Their kids were their world. They were very involved and supportive parents and just wanted the best for them. They wanted the girls to experience Disney and the beach,” close friend Loni Burnside Eaton told the Orlando Sentinel. “I can’t believe this really happened.”

“The girls don’t know what happened to them [their parents] yet. Everyone is on their way down there and that’s when they’ll tell them,” Eaton said through tears. “It’s just devastating.”

Troopers are still investigating the crash. No charges have been filed.
