ASHEBORO, N.C. -- Sometimes your career path can take an unexpected turn.

The same remains true at the North Carolina Zoo, where one UNCG graduate received his degree in set design for theatre. Little did he know, his stage would be viewed by thousands of people and used by 800-pound animals.

With a deadline and plenty of things to consider, it's safe to say the exhibit has been a success. He says the seals and sea lions all seem happy with his creation.

"I think it absolutely falls in line with what set design can do," he said.
