Missing 6-year-old NC girl found; officials unsure about condition

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. — A family friend says 6-year-old Steffany Lenneth Lopez-Castro has been located and is being taken to the hospital, according to WECT.

An Amber Alert was issued for Lopez-Castro Wednesday night and officials are currently awaiting an update on her condition after the alleged abduction.

She is described as being 4 feet tall and weighing 39 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.

Her abductor was described as a white male wearing a black short-sleeved shirt with a dragon on it, long black pants and boots. He also had a black helmet.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office at (910) 798-4200 or the Wilmington Police Department at (910) 798-4260.

The sheriff’s office will hold a news conference at 11 a.m. to give an update on her condition.
