2 arrested in Burlington drive-by shooting

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Two men have been arrested in connection with a reported shooting on Monday morning in Burlington.

Orlander Richardson, 27, and Antonio Marquet Griffin, 26, both of Burlington, are each charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, according to Burlington police Sgt. Drew Gerringer. Richardson was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

On Monday at 9:38 a.m., Burlington police officers responded to the area of South Mebane Street and Maple avenue on a report of shots being fired.

Upon arrival, officers learned that a vehicle was traveling on South Mebane Street and shots were fired from the vehicle at two people walking in the area. No injuries were reported.

Burlington police said the shooting was not a random act.

On Tuesday, Burlington police took Richardson and Griffin into custody.

Richardson is being held in the Alamance County Jail under a $250,000 bond and Griffin is in the Alamance County Jail under a $100,000 bond.
