Winston-Salem police searching for SunTrust bank robbery suspect; release surveillance images

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem police are searching for a man accused of robbing a local bank Tuesday afternoon.

At 12:34 p.m., officers responded to the SunTrust bank, located at 101 S. Stratford Road, in reference to a reported robbery.

According to a news release from Winston-Salem police, moments before officers responded, a suspect entered the bank and informed the teller that he was committing a robbery.

The suspect demanded money from the teller and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

No one was injured during the incident.

Winston-Salem police released surveillance images of the suspect and said he is described as a white male, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, wearing dark gray shorts, a dark colored ball cap with “CASE” written on the front, a blue shirt with multicolored logos on the front and back, tennis shoes and sunglasses.
