Montez Sistrunk, 25

YPSILANTI, Mich. — A Michigan father is facing charges after he allegedly left his 5-month-old and 2-year-old sons inside his car for 30 minutes while he went inside a casino to gamble.

Police say 25-year-old Montez Sistrunk is facing child neglect charges after he attempted to cover his sons with a blanket so no one would notice they were still in the car, according to WJBK.

A person nearby noticed the children in the backseat and reported the incident to the casino security. Employees were able to smash the back window and get the children out of the estimated 120-degree heat.

Police were able to use surveillance video to track Sistrunk down and found him gambling. Initially, he was issued a ticket for the incident, but police later arrested him at his apartment.

Child Protective Services are looking into the incident.
