SHERRILLS FORD, N.C. — A 4-year-old Sherrills Ford girl who was flown to a children’s hospital after falling into a backyard pool Wednesday has died.

“She was a spitfire, Natalie Lippard’s father, Stephen, said in an email to WSOC.

“My lil’ Nat Nat. She loved her siblings almost as much as she loved driving them crazy. And she loved her Jesus, going to Sunday School. She was as crazy and spirited as her curls. Such a beautiful girl inside and out,” he said.

Doctors declared Natalie brain dead Thursday night, according to her father.

Stallings Memorial Baptist Church members are asking the community to pray for Natalie’s family.
