Guilford County jurors can’t agree in child sex trial of former elementary teacher
GREENSBORO, N.C. — Jurors told the judge in the sexual abuse trial of a former Lindley Elementary School teacher that they may be unable to reach a unanimous verdict, according to the Greensboro News & Record.
Randall “Randy” Lee Clawson, a former English as a second language teacher faces four counts each of first-degree sexual offense with a child, sexual activity with a student by a teacher, indecent liberties with a child and three counts of first-degree kidnapping.
Superior Court Judge Christopher Bragg sent jurors home Thursday night with the admonition, “Don’t watch Law & Order.” The judge told jurors they should spend the evening doing something other than thinking about the case.
“You need to get away from this and do something else,” Bragg said.
