ASHEBORO, N.C. -- This place draws a crowd... or more accurately, the crowd comes to draw and paint.

Nikki Cherry, the owner of the Preppy Possum in Asheboro, offers a place for people to come and let their creativity take over.

Her style, unique and simple, normally focuses on animals, humans and of course, flowers.

"I teach it by breaking it down into simple shapes so that people are intimidated," she said.

She started showcasing her art at small shows and displaying her work at festivals, but her class has taken off and become a community favorite.
