Lightning strike affects four NC men surf fishing in North Myrtle Beach

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, N.C. — Four North Carolina men were indirectly impacted by a lightning strike while surf fishing in North Myrtle Beach Thursday afternoon.

The four men, ranging between the ages of 31 and 57, were fishing at about 4 p.m. when the incident occurred, according to WBTW.

None of the men were directly hit by the lightning, but it struck close enough to leave one of them unconscious.

The man was taken to the hospital and recovered quickly.
