JAMESTOWN, N.C. -- Jamestown resident Gary Coke never did workwood until he retired.
He says he learned the basic skills from the internet and began buying equipment.
"I started off making cutting boards, it was a reasonably easy thing to learn," Coke said. "I found a passion and I really enjoy it."
He has a computerized milling machine that helps him create unique items.
"I think it's the ability to take a raw piece of wood and make it into something," he said. "I think when it's done right, there's nothing like that."
