ASHEBORO, N.C. – The ALDI grocery store at 1318 E. Dixie Drive in Asheboro is adding more than 3,000 square feet to its location.

The Asheboro Courier-Tribune reported that the remodeled store will be about 18,000 square feet, up from about 15,000, and will have a fifth aisle.

An ALDI spokesperson told the paper that the expansion will allow the store to offer an expanded variety of foods and products.

The project is expected to be completed by the late fall. There is no major hiring at the moment.

“We’ve also listened to feedback from customers and the new layout will be easy to navigate, with upgrades such as expanded cooler sections and healthy tips within the produce section,” said company spokesperson Colleen Baker, according to the paper.
