GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police in Greensboro are investigating after a body was found in a creek on Monday afternoon.

On Tuesday, Greensboro police Public Information Officer Susan Danielsen said preliminary autopsy results from the state Medical Examiner’s Office indicate that the man whose body was found in the creek died as a result of a homicide.

Police said the body was found in a creek by the 1900 block of Fairview Street by somebody who called 911 at about 3 p.m.

Police are withholding additional details about the nature of the homicide until the man can be positively identified and his next of kin notified, Danielsen said.
