FOUR OAKS, N.C. — A North Carolina woman lost custody of her two young children after one of them crawled across a country road, WNCN reports.
Samantha Brooke Bryant, 27, has been charged with two counts of misdemeanor child abuse after her one-year-old child crawled across the street and into a neighbor’s yard. The neighbor reported the incident to the police.
Upon arrival, deputies say Bryant was acting erratically, saying she didn’t have a one-year-old child because it was previously removed by police.
In addition, officers located a three-year-old boy in the house. He was described as being “badly unkempt.”
Officials say that both children were unharmed and they have been placed into the custody of social workers.
