GREENSBORO, N.C. – One person is dead after being struck by a vehicle in the 3700 block of West Gate City Blvd. early Saturday morning.

Police said that Leon Wayne Sanchez, 50, was crossing West Gate City Blvd. around midnight when he was struck by an unknown vehicle.

Sanchez was pronounced dead at the scene by Guilford County EMS, according to police.

Police said there is no information on the driver or the vehicle that struck Sanchez at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
