Suspect identified in Burlington apartment shooting

BURLINGTON, N.C. — A suspect has been identified in an investigation of a shooting that occurred at a Burlington apartment complex Tuesday afternoon.

Dennis Lee Mebane, 52, is wanted in reference to two counts of discharging a firearm into occupied property, possession of a firearm by a felon and injury to real property after a shootout in the parking lot of the Oak Pointe Apartments. Police were unable to locate Mebane at his listed residence.

The identities of the other involved parties have not been determined and the investigation is ongoing.
