GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — A woman was attacked by a fox outside her Guilford County home on Monday afternoon, according to Cpl. D. Cook with the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened in the 900 block of Logandale Court, just south of the Greensboro city limit, at 1:20 p.m.

Cook said the woman had gone out to her car to get something when she was attacked. When the fox attacked, the woman grabbed the fox by the neck, threw it to the ground and went inside.

The woman’s husband called Guilford County EMS.

The woman had about a 1-inch laceration that was not serious enough to require ambulance transport, Cook said. She told the sheriff’s office she will travel by private vehicle for treatment.

Animal Control has not located the fox but will continue their efforts to find and trap it.
