Riders removed from top of roller coaster at Busch Gardens

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Wednesday was a wild day for amusement parks.

Several hours after Carowinds suffered a power outage, riders had to be removed from the top of the Alpengeist roller coaster at Busch Gardens, WAVY reports.

Busch Gardens’ Team Members safely removed riders after Alpengeist stopped on the lift hill Wednesday evening. The park’s maintenance team identified the issue, reset the ride and Alpengeist was reopened,” a statement from Busch Gardens reads.

The source of the issue was never released.
