Joint Base Andrews in Maryland on lock down

CAMP SPRINGS, Md. — Joint Base Andrews in Maryland is currently on lockdown due to a report of an active shooter.

The base was placed on lockdown around 9 a.m. Thursday and all personnel have been directed to shelter in place.

The Joint Base Andrews’ twitter says the base was scheduled to conduct an active shooter exercise, but they received reports of a real-world situation.

The incident is ongoing at the Malcolm Grow Medical Facility. First responders are on the scene.
