CHARLOTTE, N.C. — For the third time in less than a month, Carowinds experienced a power outage.

According to WSOC, the outage occurred Wednesday morning and only lasted about 6 minutes, but rides were down for several hours.

A Carowinds spokesperson said officials had to check systems and inspect the rides before allowing anyone on the rides.

Park officials say they can’t control the power outages and that Duke Energy is working to fix the issue.

“We rode one ride and were, like, ‘Let’s just go home.’ We are season pass holders so we can come another day, but it was disappointing,” parkgoer Dominick DiFrancisco told WSOC.
