Drowning victim at High Rock Lake identified as Greensboro man

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — The victim who drowned at High Rock Lake on Saturday has been identified.

Greensboro resident Adam Keith Miles, 24, was reported missing on Saturday from a residence in the Swearing Creek community, the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office said. He was last seen swimming in the area of Hickory Pointe with friends before he disappeared.

Miles was a student at Winston-Salem State University, according to a Winston-Salem Journal report.

Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Lake Patrol, North Carolina Wildlife officers, Davidson County Rescue, Rowan Rescue Squad and several fire departments responded to search for the victim, which included the lake area and local roads. Several boats and a cadaver K-9 unit were dispatched to help in the search.

Around 8:20 p.m., the search was called off and scheduled to resume on Sunday morning. After search operations resumed at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Miles’ body was discovered.
