Forsyth County man dead after crashing truck in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – A Forsyth County man has died after police said he suffered an apparent medical condition and crashed his truck into a parked vehicle.

Joshua Robert Vernon, 28, of Pfafftown, was pronounced deceased on scene, according to Winston-Salem police.

Officers were called to the 5700 block of Country Club Road shortly after 9:30 p.m. Saturday in reference to the incident.

Vernon crossed the center line, left the roadway to the left side and collided with a parked unoccupied vehicle, according to a preliminary investigation.

Vernon’s 1999 Dodge truck then traveled across all lanes of Country Club Road before stopping on the right side of the roadway against a row of bushes, according to police.

Witnesses on the scene told officers that Vernon appeared to be in medical distress during the time of the accident. Police have not said what the apparent medical condition could have been.
