Rainbow appears before candlelight vigil for Orlando shooting victims

ORLANDO, Fla. — Thousands gathered Sunday to remember the 49 lives that were taken when a gunman entered a gay nightclub in Orlando and opened fire.

Right before the vigil in Orlando started, a rainbow appeared in the sky and was caught in a photo by Facebook user Gino Iavarone. It quickly went viral.

“This is the moment in time when hearts are opened and minds are changed forever,” said Orange County mayor Teresa Jacobs. “And this is the moment when love will prevail.”

According to WFTV, , organizers called it a “gathering of friends” with no religious, political or brand association. In addition to mourning those who were lost, organizers sought to send a message of love and unity.
