Man charged with attempted first-degree murder in Lexington shooting

LEXINGTON, N.C. — Lexington police have charged a man with attempted murder in the June 12 shooting of a 28-year-old man, the Lexington Dispatch reports.

Carlos Antonio Leach, 37, of Lexington, was taken into custody Friday on a charge of felony attempted first-degree murder.

The shooting happened shortly before midnight on June 12.

Daniel Allen Sean, 28, of Lexington, was shot multiple times and transported to the hospital in serious condition.

According to the Lexington Dispatch, Sean was not listed Monday as a patient at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and, as of last week, he was listed in stable condition.

Leach was placed in the Davidson County Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond.

Leach is scheduled to appear in court June 27.
