Funeral on Monday for fallen North Carolina firefighter

EAST LINCOLN, N.C. — A firefighter died Thursday while on duty, WSOC reports.

Joshua Warren, 34, was exercising at East Lincoln Middle School when had a medical emergency and was taken to Carolinas HealthCare System-Lincoln Medical Center, where he later died.

Warren has been a member of East Lincoln Fire Department since 2013.

He leaves behind a wife, a 4-year-old son and an 8-year-old daughter.

Procession and funeral arrangements

A formal firefighter funeral will begin at 4 p.m. on Monday.

The procession will travel south on North N.C. Highway 16 Business from the Good Samaritan Funeral Home to Waterside Crossing Boulevard.

From there, Warren’s body will be taken through East Lincoln’s Fire Station and then return back to Westport Baptist Church for the visitation and funeral.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Westport Baptist Church.
