Victim in fatal High Point house fire identified

HIGH POINT, N.C. – One man is dead and another person injured after a house fire in High Point early Wednesday morning, according to High Point Fire Chief Tim Wright.

Kevin Dellinger, 46, has been identified as the victim. The fire was reported at 2426 Williams Ave. at about 1 a.m. Wednesday.

It took 20 firefighters with six trucks about 10 minutes to have the situation under control.

Authorities said the fire started in the front right bedroom. The cause is undetermined, but is not believed to be suspicious.

The fire was reported by a neighbor. The house is uninhabitable. The injured victim is being assisted by the Red Cross.

Guilford County emergency workers and High Point police assisted High Point firefighters during the incident.
