A man who saw the commotion following an alligator attack on a 2-year-old boy near a Disney hotel Tuesday described the situation to The Orlando Sentinel.

Bill Wilson of New Harmony, Ind., said he was nearby on the balcony of his room near the beach area Tuesday evening.

At first, he said he thought a fight broke out.

“I looked over and here comes one of the lifeguards. He said, ‘Everybody get out of the water.’ The mother was there and she was frantic, running up and down looking.”

He said the whole incident took less than 30 seconds. A minute later, the alligator was gone.

Helicopters, fire department members, lifeguards, pontoon boats were quick to respond, he said.
