Large alligator seen with human body in mouth in Florida

LAKELAND, Fla. — A large alligator was seen with a human body in its mouth on Tuesday afternoon in Florida.

On Tuesday afternoon, a person called 911 to report seeing an alligator in a lake that had a body in its mouth, WFLA reports.

Police responded to the scene and said they saw the alligator with the body. The alligator then released the body from its mouth.

A state alligator trapper responded to the scene at about 3 p.m. to help catch the alligator.

As of 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Lakeland police were working to keep the alligator away from the body so they could remove it from the water.

The person’s identity is not known.
