Elderly man, woman found dead in Greensboro home

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A death investigation is underway after an elderly man and woman were found dead in a Greensboro home on Tuesday afternoon.

At 12:10 p.m., Greensboro police responded to 823 Meade Drive in reference to a welfare check.

Upon arrival, officers found William Rayburn Knight, 85, and Guynell Cromer Knight, 84, dead in the home.

The causes and manners of death are unknown at this time and an autopsy has been scheduled for tomorrow at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Raleigh, according to a news release from Greensboro police.

Investigators did not find any signs of forced entry into the residence.

The incident will be treated as an unknown death investigation until the results of the autopsy are complete.
