Reidsville man charged with attempted first-degree murder

REIDSVILLE, N.C. — A Reidsville man has been charged with attempted first-degree, according to a news release from the Reidsville Police Department.

Stevie Vonell King, 36, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill and possession of a firearm by a felon.

At 12:30 p.m. Friday morning, the Reidsville police responded to a call referencing shots fired on the 100 block of Hubbard Street, and upon their arrival they found a female victim outside of the residence that had been shot.

She was taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. She has since been released.

King was also transported to a local hospital and is being  treated for a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the face.
