Tractor-trailer overturns, spills fuel on I-85 North in Randolph County

RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — A tractor-trailer overturned on Interstate 85 North near the Hopewell Church Road exit on Wednesday afternoon.

The accident happened at about 4:30 p.m., according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol.

Highway Patrol, Guil-Rand fire and Randolph County EMS responded to the scene.

No injuries were reported.

Hazmat was dispatched to the scene due to a fuel spill when the tractor-trailer overturned.

One of three lanes of I-85 North is closed near the accident and is expected to reopen at about 9:30 p.m., according to the North Carolina DOT.
