HOUSTON — The Aldine Independent School District Middle School teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old student turned herself into Montgomery County police Wednesday.

According to KPRC, Alexandria Vera, 24, had a sexual relationship with one of her students and also got pregnant by the eighth-grade student.

Vera, an English teacher, admitted to having a sexual relationship with her student last September.

She claimed she and the teen are in love and that she’s been introduced to his family as his girlfriend. The boy’s parents are said to be accepting of the relationship, including Vera in family gatherings.

Court documents detail the fact that Vera allegedly became pregnant with the boy’s baby in January, and his family was said to be excited and supportive. But after an unexpected visit to the school by Child Protective Services in February, she reportedly became nervous and terminated the pregnancy.

She is charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child and her bond is set at $100,000.
