CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A truck carrying balcony window panels wrecked on Interstate 77 Wednesday morning, leaving the road covered in glass shards, according to WSOC.

The truck driver said a tow truck clipped him after he entered I-77 northbound near Remount Road exit 8. Only one lane is open approaching uptown Charlotte.

North Carolina Department of Transportation officials estimate the scene will clear by 8 a.m.
