Davidson County man charged with child abuse

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — A Davidson County man has been charged with child abuse.

According to a news release from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, David Lee Spivey Jr., 34, has been charged with felony intentional child abuse – serious physical injury.

After the initial report was received by the Davidson County Department of Social Services, the sheriff’s office opened an investigation into a possible child abuse case.

Over the next several weeks, the sheriff’s office investigated the incident and found Spivey to have committed the crime.

Spivey is under a $3500 secured bond and has a June 27 court date.
