Fire reported at motel in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Budget Inn at 600 Peters Creek Pkwy. in Winston-Salem caught fire earlier this morning.

According to Winston-Salem police, the call came in at 4:02 a.m.  and there are no reported injuries.

Winston-Salem Fire Department Division Chief Jeff Heitman said the two people staying in the room have not been located, but they were not in the room when the manager discovered the fire.

The fire has since been put out.

The motel allows smoking and the investigation is ongoing.
