SANTA MONICA, Calif. — “Don’t roofie someone on our watch!”
That’s the message three women have for any would-be criminals after being credited with stopping a potential sexual assault.
According to ABC News, Sonia Ulrich, Marla Saltzer and Monica Kenyon were at a hotel bar in Santa Monica last Thursday when Kenyon noticed a man and a woman at a nearby table who appeared to be on a date.
The trio told ABC they noticed the man acting “pretty suspicious” when the woman went to the bathroom.
“I thought he was trying to lace her drink,” Kenyon said. “He for sure dropped something into her drink.”
Ulrich went to talk to the woman in the bathroom while another of the three friends alerted the restaurant’s staff.
Ulrich said when she confronted the woman in the bathroom, she told the woman they saw the man put something in her drink. The woman replied, “He’s one of my best friends.”
The manager said the restaurant’s security footage appeared to show the man putting something in the woman’s drink and called police.
Michael Hsu, 25, was arrested at the hotel and is being held on a $1 million bond. He is charged with intent to commit felony and intent to use a drug to commit a felony.
Ulrich took to Facebook on Friday, showing the trio posing like “Charlie’s Angle’s” with the photo caption “Don’t roofie someone on our watch!”
“I really wanted people to know that if they say something, it can make a difference,” Ulrich told ABC.
