Charlie Daniels recently released a message for the National Rifle Association in which he warns terrorists that they “haven’t met America.”

The Wilmington-born country music legend appeared in the in NRA video back in March, but it didn’t start getting mainstream attention until recently.

“You might have met our fresh-faced flower child president and his weak-kneed, Ivy League friends. But you haven’t met America,” said Daniels, 79. “You haven’t met the heartland, or the people who will defend this nation with their bloody, calloused, bare hands … No, you’ve never met America. And you ought to pray you never do.”

Late night comedian Stephen Colbert even spoofed the video in a recent segment on his TV show.
