LINCOLNTON, N.C. — A Lincolnton woman was hospitalized after being injured by her pet kinkajou, WSOC says.

Animal Control staff said the woman has three of the animals in her home and all needed permits to own the exotic animals.

Neighbors said the woman was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

The kinkajou is a rainforest mammal from Central and South America that are related raccoons.
