Kernersville police investigating two armed robberies overnight

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. — Kernersville police are investigating two armed robberies that occurred early Friday.

Officers with the Kernersville Police Department responded to the Kangaroo Express located at 2010 West Mountain St. at about 1:15 a.m. in reference to a reported armed robbery.

Personnel reported a man entered the business and ordered the clerk to give him the money. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency and is still at large.

At 3:26 a.m. officers responded to the Quality Mart located at 101 Clayton Forest Rd. in reference to a reported armed robbery.

Personnel reported a male subject entered the business and ordered the clerk to give him the money. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency and is still at large.

Later on in the evening in Winston-Salem, a convenience store was robbed. Police believe the same suspect was involved in that robbery.
