Possible suspect in case where woman tied to tree off Blue Ridge Parkway
BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY — Parkway officials say they are following a good lead that could point them to the suspect in a bizarre Parkway assault, WLOS reported.
On May 12, a 64-year-old female hiker was left tied up to a tree near Potato Gap Field. On Monday, a composite sketch was released of a suspect.
The man responsible could be 43-year-old Christopher Michael Campbell of Buncombe County, Parkway officials say.
Campbell is wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service for violating his probation.
According to records from the North Carolina Department of Corrections, Campbell was released from prison on April 28. He had served time for drug possession and forgery. Now, the U.S. Marshals Service is working with parkway officials to find him.
