Burlington man charged after break-in at convenience store

BURLINGTON, N.C. — A Burlington man was arrested early Wednesday after breaking into a Fairway One Stop.

At about 1:30 a.m. Burlington Police officers were on patrol and heard an audible alarm in the area of 1382 S. Church St.

Upon investigation, officers saw a man walking away from the business. Officers determined the business had a broken window and had been entered — and an undisclosed amount of currency was stolen.

The suspect, Kendall Summers, 21, of 320 Summersville Place, Burlington was in possession of the stolen currency and a firearm.

Summers was arrested and charged with felony breaking and entering of a business, felony larceny and carrying a concealed weapon.
