Suspect sought for attempted robbery of Dollar Tree, robbery of Sheetz in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro police are searching for a suspect in connection with the attempted robbery of a Dollar Tree and the robbery of a Sheetz, according to a news release from Lt. T.D. Moore.

At 6:56 p.m. Friday, officers responded to the Dollar Tree at 2723 Ring Road in reference to an attempted robbery.

The suspect allegedly entered the business armed with a handgun but left the premises with no money. The suspect left on foot in an unknown direction.

A short distance away at 7:26 p.m., officers responded to the Sheetz at 4736 U.S. 29 North in reference to a robbery.

The suspect entered the business armed with a handgun, robbed the clerk and left the premises with an undisclosed amount of cash, the release said. The suspect left the business by vehicle.

Based on surveillance video from both incidents, officers have determined that the suspect from each of the businesses is likely the same person, the release said. The suspect is described as a white male with blonde hair, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

No injuries were reported.
