RALEIGH N.C. – A man forced himself into a North Carolina woman’s home and assaulted her, but ran off after the victim’s dog came out.

WTVD reported that it happened to a mother in a Raleigh neighborhood earlier this week after she walked out on the porch.

“Somebody snuck behind her and grabbed her through the back,” Frank Romero, the victim’s husband, told WTVD. “And he put his hands in her mouth like that and told her to shut up and get in the house.”

The suspect is accused of kicking the victim in the back several times and demanding money.

The woman’s dog, a 7-year-old American Bully named “Tank” emerged from the home and the suspect took off running, according to the report.

The victim said the suspect got nervous and that the dog did his job. Police are still looking for the suspect.
