GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was on scene at a Greensboro apartment complex Friday morning.

Law enforcement dressed in full tactical gear -- helmets and camouflage -- and carrying large guns could be seen at the Morehead Apartment Homes on West Market Street.

Witnesses say investigators were focused on building 5518 and interviewed several people living in that section of the complex.

Managers at the apartment complex aren't commenting on the incident.

Greensboro police officials said it was an FBI case and aren't commenting on the incident either.

An FBI official told FOX8, "I know we are in that area engaged in investigative activity. No information is public record at this time. If we made an arrest, documents would be unsealed during a first appearance at the federal courthouse."

"We saw snipers behind trees," said Alecia Humphries, who has lived in the apartment complex for four years. She says no information is being released to residents about what's going on. "(My mom) was absolutely terrified."
