16-year-old accused of assaulting bus driver, middle school student at bus stop in High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. — A 16-year-old has been charged in connection with an assault on a school bus driver and a fellow student, according to Deputy J. Long with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened on Wednesday at about 3:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of Shadow Valley Road in High Point.

A 16-year-old male student from Ledford Senior High School allegedly assaulted a bus driver to get past him in order to exit the bus.

The 16-year-old then assaulted a 15-year-old female student from Ledford Middle School by punching her in the head and face three times.

According to Long, the 16-year-old then said he would finish her at the bus stop in the morning.

The 15-year-old was taken to a local hospital and diagnosed with a concussion and a contusion to the scalp. Her condition is unknown.

The 16-year-old was charged with assault inflicting serious injury, communicating threats and assault on a school official.
