GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — A Gaston County woman says her husband attacked her and threatened to burn down their home with their children inside.

It happened on Mother’s Day when the woman told her husband she was leaving him, according to WSOC.

The woman, who did not want to be identified, said her husband grabbed her by the throat, pushed her against a wall and grabbed a gas can.

“Here he comes with gas tank. He pours gas on the floor, clothes and everything,” she told WSOC.

Then, the man pulled out a lighter and said that he was going to blow the home up with the kids inside.

Police charged the 26-year-old man with assault on a female and communicating threats.

Now the woman says she’s scared of what will happen to her family when he gets out.

WSOC reported that the husband posted the $20,000 bond and was released.
