GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — A Gaston County firefighter is accused of placing a hidden camera in the women’s bathroom at Crowders Mountain Volunteer Fire and Rescue, according to WSOC.

Chief Eric Withers would not confirm whether the firefighter was an active member.

County officials told WSOC that they believe the firefighter’s membership was removed when the camera was found.

The camera was found in October and a few weeks later Gaston County human resources conducted a sexual harassment training with their staff.

According to the Gaston County Fire Marshal’s Office, the Crowders Mountain department has 50 members, four of which are women.

Officials said the camera was pulled before anyone was recorded.

The accused firefighter reapplied as a volunteer after waiting six months, but pulled his application this week.
