Burlington police searching for man accused of robbing, assaulting juvenile

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police are searching for a man who they say robbed and assaulted a juvenile in Burlington on Sunday.

Zachary O’Neal Bowe, 20, of Stokes Street in Burlington, is wanted for robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

Officers with the Burlington Police Department responded to the 400 block of Key Street at 6:14 p.m. after receiving a report of an armed robbery and assault on a juvenile.

The unidentified juvenile told police that he was walking along Key Street when he was approached by an unknown man in a white Nissan Sentra.

The victim said he had a short conversation with the suspect before the he pulled a gun out of the vehicle and struck the victim in the face with it. The suspect, now identified as Bowe, then took the victim’s wallet and fled the scene.

Police say the victim was treated and released from Alamance Regional Medical Center.
