CASWELL COUNTY, N.C. — A Burlington man wanted in connection with a double murder in Caswell County was arrested early Wednesday morning.

Camiah Tylequis Walker, 24, is facing two counts of felony first-degree murder, one count of felony violation of a domestic violence protection order with a deadly weapon and one count of misdemeanor violation of a domestic violence protection order.

Walker is accused of shooting and killing Sherry Ann Burford, 45, and Bridgette Nicole Burford, 20, both of Yanceyville.

Authorities were called to the scene at about 4:18 a.m. Saturday at 68 Shady Lane in Gibsonville, according to the Caswell County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies at the scene found the two victims inside the home unresponsive and suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

A third victim in this case, a 21-year-old woman who lived there, was taken from the home against her will at the time of the shooting, according to investigators. She was found unharmed in Thomasville.

According to Walker’s mother, prior to this incident, he was in jail for about 10 days for assaulting his child’s mother.

After a week-long search, Walker was taken into custody at the Red Carpet Inn, located at 978 Plantation Drive just after 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Walker is being held in the Caswell County detention Facility without bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for May 11 in Caswell County District Court.

Authorities say additional charges are expected in this case.
